These tests are performed by our competent technologists from a patient’s SurePath vial.

Advancing women’s healthcare is a top priority at WPM and by providing one vial testing for a Pap, HPV, NG, and CT we are able to better serve you and your patient by rapid turn-around-time and increased specificity and sensitivity test results. WPM believes that the best medicine is practiced locally!

PCR testing offers many advantages to the physician wanting to know the current HPV status of their patient. PCR offers the advantage of detecting specific genotypes as opposed to a cocktail of high risk or low risk types.

HPV on a SurePath Sample. The future promises identifying more genotypes of the known 120 HPV types, as in the case of HPV 53 and HPV 66, that have a significant risk factor that the current cocktail methodology cannot add or detect. Currently, PCR detects and reports 23 types as high risk. The current cocktail method can only detect 13 high risk types. With PCR , each HPV genotype will be clearly reported. The risk assessment for that specific patient will also be clearly reported. Both patients and physicians will be able to know the true genotype(s) of any current infection and access the best appropriate treatment indicated by the specific type or types present.

Neisseria gonorrhea and Chlamydia trachomatis testing by PCR offers the clear advantage of increased sensitivity and specificity. Furthermore, with one vial testing from your SurePath Pap sample WPM can offer convenience and competitive pricing.
